As the clock ticks down to kick-off in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Whisper, Final Replay and Sony Pictures Television are today announcing the landmark new series ‘Moment Of Truth’, produced in association with FIFA+, the new digital destination for football fandom and the home of the FIFA World Cup football archive.
‘Moment Of Truth’ examines the world’s favourite sport through the lens of human endeavour: Why do we care so much about the game? What makes exceptional footballers tick? What lifts teams to greatness? What does it tell us about ourselves? Ten simple words provide the answer, and each episode will be shaped around these themes:

With unprecedented access to the FIFA World Cup archives dating back to the first tournament in 1930 and incredible behind-the-scenes contributions from superstars, fans, commentators and the world’s leading psychologists, each episode peels back headlines and explores iconic moments from the men and women’s FIFA World Cup tournaments.
Looking in forensic detail at the impact of each of these moments, their timeline and background, how it changed the player and why it resonates so forcefully with us. ‘Moment Of Truth’ will put football under the microscope, scrutinising the moments of agony and ecstasy, moving backwards and forwards in time to create a uniquely revealing series like no other.
