Whisper is delighted to announce that Estelle Chijarira has joined Whisper as its new Head of People. Estelle will help Whisper enhance its working environment and maintain the best possible working practices, as it continues to expand.
With Whisper having grown from 80 to over 200 team members across the last two years, the company is focused on maintaining its inclusive and diverse culture, while also looking to learn and improve. Estelle will draw on her experience to help Whisper achieve this, while developing, supporting and training current team members and helping to attract new talent.
Estelle joins Whisper from Ofcom where she implemented a number of people policies and procedures which directly led to Ofcom being twice recognised as one of The Times’ Top 50 Best Places to Work for Women. One of Estelle’s key objectives will be to build on Whisper’s industry-leading numbers of ethnically diverse, disabled and female team members, with a focus on creative and editorial appointments.
At Whisper, Estelle will be tasked to implement changes based on feedback from its recent Broadcast Best Places to Work process. Estelle has delivered multiple career and development programmes for employees. She brings strong experience of HR legislation, employee engagement governance, process improvement and regulatory compliance. She will report to CEO Sunil Patel, and sit on Whisper’s Senior Management Team.
