Whisper has won 'Best Sports Entertainment Show' at the Broadcast Sport Awards for the third year running with NFL End Zone, a weekly NFL show made with Channel 5.
It’s the third consecutive time Whisper has won the award. Last year it won for Formula One with Channel 4 and before that for Today in Tokyo for the Paralympics with Channel 4.
Whisper’s main belief is that Entertainment Is Everything, which is applied to what it produces and how it produces it. NFL End Zone, produced with NFL UK, was up against some stiff competition, including Soccer Aid, Rob and Romesh v The Three Lions, Sidemen Charity Match, plus more.
Delivered on a small budget and remotely produced from the UK, NFL End Zone packs a big punch every week. Presented by the brilliant Cori Yarckin, the show aims to grab the viewer and take them on a road trip around America, while revealing how important NFL is to people in the US.
In addition to introducing viewers to a multitude of superfans, NFL End Zone weaves the narrative of the sporting season and follows the heroes on the field as they do their thing. But, when Cori chats to them in the locker room post-game, it isn’t about ‘that pass’ or ‘this tackle’, we catch them as they’re putting on their gold chains and rings, talk about their fashion choices and get them to do their best English accent. It’s fun, accessible, and engaging.
NFL End Zone is the most-watched NFL Show in the UK among Under 18s and achieves something that all sports are desperate to: engagement with a younger audience.
NFL End Zone is on Channel 5 every Sunday morning at 10:30am.
