Whisper is helping Formula E achieve record audience figures across English language territories in partnership with broadcasters, CBS and ITV
As Formula E’s record-breaking season in global viewership continues, Whisper has been at the forefront of delivering high quality, personality-based programming for global English language territories over the first four races of Season 11.
Whisper’s CBS coverage of Round Two in Mexico drew a record 10.5 million cumulative viewers. Round Three and Four in Saudi Arabia saw Whisper deliver 17 English Language Programmes, and over 50 clips of feature and promo content across the race weekend in Jeddah.
From live in-vision presented programming offering one hour, 30-minute, and five-minute build-up options to both races, to bespoke highlights shows for broadcasters in different territories, Whisper’s remote production team in London worked with the onsite team in Saudi Arabia to create compelling content. Whisper teamed up with Formula E to secure IBO World Middleweight boxing champion Chris Eubank Junior to front the coverage of race four on Saturday.
Whisper’s CEO and co-founder, Sunil Patel said: “For ground-breaking sports like Formula E, the ability to deliver broadcasters high quality bespoke programming and content is crucial to building a global brand, taking the drama and personalities of the sport to bigger and bigger audiences.
“Formula E broadcasters have full access to entertaining feature content and promos that sell the sport, as well as first-class race coverage, meaning they can create their own social media strategy to build a rich conversation around the live events, growing the footprint of Formula E. This is borne out by the strong US viewing figures and UK viewership of Formula E. With programming moving onto ITV4 and ITVX, produced by Whisper, the audiences has grown by 120% year-on-year in the UK.”
Whisper was founded in the world of motorsport, and currently works with eight Formula 1 teams producing promotional content, and in March will begin its 10thseason as the production partner of Channel 4 on their coverage of Formula 1, as well as being English Language Production partner of Formula E.
