SOCIAL & DIGITAL LEAD
– WHISPER RUGBY + GENERAL SPORT

We’re looking for a Social & Digital Lead to spearhead our channel management, video content, stills and social posting teams. This will be a key role in leading our Rugby Union channel management team, as well as launching new products and building teams.
A key responsibility is to lead the team producing content across for a major Rugby Union property across all social media channels including YouTube.

What we’re looking for:
- A creative leader in the digital and social media space.
- A passionate producer of digital video content in different formats for different platforms.
- A leader in Channel Management who has experience in building and managing teams to deliver a sport’s tone of voice across all social media platforms.
- An ardent sports fan, who especially lives and breathes rugby union content and relishes crafting fresh, impactful ways of telling football stories.
- An expert in the rapidly evolving digital content landscape with an innate drive to be ahead of the game in this field.
- A talented developer of creative digital ideas with an ability to present them clearly, following them through from their formation all the way through to their delivery.
- A proven record in shaping the creative direction of a Digital Content provider.
Your Mission:
- To lead a talented team of social media producers, executives, content producers, graphics operators, researchers and editors, delivering a large range of posts and content across all social media channels including YouTube for a major rugby union property.
- To foster a collaborative and creative environment, from managing the staffing to giving feedback on work.
- To be one of the primary client-facing contacts between Whisper and the client, working directly with their digital content and marketing teams to bring their videos to life.
- To constantly innovate and evolve the wider Whisper digital content output, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve season after season.
- To develop future plans, pitches and further build the team as Whisper’s digital and channel management footprint increases.
- To understand modern video, stills, and written word production workflows while keeping a keen eye across emerging technologies, ensuring we leverage the latest tools to deliver exceptional content.
- To lead ad-hoc sponsor projects, delivering digital video content commercial partners, on time and within budget.
- To craft strategic content plans for major tournaments and events, meticulously planning staff rotas and resources.

The Skills You Bring:
- A background in leading a department that manages rugby union channels, and produces digital video content in different formats for different platforms.
- A huge passion for both producing and developing rugby content that you’re able to pass onto the members of your team.
- A strong understanding of digital video production workflows and processes.
- Extensive knowledge of and a passion for English Rugby Union and the culture around it.
- Experience of working closely with a client, liaising with them on a day-to-day basis as the main point of contact.
- A history of working with production management to produce budgets, manage rotas and book freelance staff.
Location:
The base for this position is Kew, London.
Working Days:
5 day week, x4 days in office and x1 day WFH
You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirement.
Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day week.
Whisper offer the option of flexitime hours subject to production requirements.
Start:
ASAP – 12 months FTC initially.
